Amapiano star Boohle has lost a major booking opportunity after leaked WhatsApp messages exposed highly unprofessional behavior from her management team.

The controversy erupted when veteran promoter DJ C-Live shared screenshots of a tense exchange with a member of Boohle’s booking team, identified as “Rock.” The leaks revealed a total breakdown in professional etiquette:

• Communication Breakdown: DJ C-Live publicly slammed the team for ignoring emails and calls, leaving promoters on “read.”
• Massive Price Hikes: The promoter questioned why a previous quote of R30,000 had suddenly skyrocketed to R80,000 for an upcoming gig.
• Unprofessional Attitude: Instead of clarifying the premium rate, the manager dismissively told the promoter he was “busy crying as if u once booked us.”

The dismissive tone was the final straw. DJ C-Live cancelled the booking entirely, making it clear that Boohle lost the gig solely because of her team’s gatekeeping.

“My client really wanted Boohle… but she has just lost this booking because of ‘Rock’, who acts like he is the star,” C-Live stated.

The incident has sparked widespread debate in the South African music industry about how toxic management can actively sabotage an artist’s career. Boohle’s team has not yet issued an official response.
