South Korean seven-piece BTS have won Artist of the Year at the American Music Awards (AMAs) for the second consecutive year, cementing their status as one of the leading brands in the music industry.
This award, which is the ceremonyโs grand prize, is just the latest crown for the band, who have been on a $1 billion world tour since returning from a nearly four-year hiatus in March. This achievement has positioned BTS as the most influential music act in the world.
Alongside the Artist of the Year award, they secured Song of the Summer for their albumโs lead single, “Swim,” and Best Male K-pop Artist, marking another sweep in a year already defined by their comeback momentum. Their label partners, Katseye, also took home New Artist of the Year.
BTS beat out top artists such as Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars, Bad Bunny, and Lady Gaga in the artist category, as well as the likes of Harry Styles, Tame Impala, and PinkPantheress in the song category.
In other news, Swift, who holds the record for the most AMA awards, went into this yearโs ceremony with eight nominations but came home empty-handed.
Congratulations are in order for BTS!
