Social media is buzzing after Lerato Kganyago-Ndlala broke down during a livestream, where she opened up about the difficult season she and her husband, Thami Ndlala, have been navigating in private. Lerato is a 42-year-old, successful South African media personality, radio presenter, television host, and businesswoman.

In the livestream video circulating online, the media personality broke down while speaking about their personal lives and business dealings, admitting that the constant criticism has taken a massive toll on them.

“My partner is very strong. The past couple of months have been tough. Being accused of things you know nothing about, having people look at you differently…” she said. “It’s been tough. The last couple of months have been really tough on my family, it’s just the two of us. We felt we’re being fought from left, right, and center, and fought for something that is silly,” Kganyago-Ndlala added.

This emotional turmoil comes shortly after Lerato hosted the 2026 Metro FM Music Awards. She mentioned that despite successfully co-hosting the show with Lawrence Maleka, she received little recognition for her performance and was instead met with criticism and scrutiny.

Lerato also shared that the constant social media attacks and false allegations have deeply affected her marriage from the very day they tied the knot.

“From day number one that we got married [we’ve faced this], I think that’s why we have not had a white wedding. The past couple of months have been tough.”

Defending Her Husband

The Metro FM presenter defended her husband against critics, describing him as hardworking and supportive.

“My husband is a genius, but unfortunately, the industry has painted him as a bad person. My man has helped some of your big celebrities financially, but none of them will ever protect him.”

The wave of accusations and public scrutiny intensified after Thami Ndlala was allegedly linked to the Madlanga Commission. According to Lerato, the family has not known peace since.
